I'm worried that I might - and it's the ambivalence that kills you. PLUS: Angela Rayner's tears
‘Watch out for frenemies, there are more than you think.’
That comment was made by a Woman’s Hour listener on a reel about friendship. I had been asked on the programme to talk about how it feels to only have a surface-level connection with your friends and how your friendships change after having a baby (how long have you got?)
I’ve thought a lot about friendship over the past few years (I first started plotting my book in about 2019) but that question still took me by surprise. Was it true? Do I have more frenemies than I think? Do you?
